Your solar kWh are worth
6 times more with PotatoCharge.
You export your solar surplus to the grid at €0.05/kWh net. That same kWh, your EV neighbour is ready to pay €0.30 for. The difference is what PotatoCharge creates.
Grid export
Your supplier buys back your solar surplus. Net rate: around €0.05/kWh. For 286 kWh per month, you earn €14.
Via PotatoCharge
You share those same kWh directly with your neighbour at €0.30/kWh. For 286 kWh per month, you earn €86.
The annual difference
Over 12 months, the gap between grid export and sharing via PotatoCharge represents over €860 in extra income, without changing a single outlet.

Every shared charger is a building block of citizen-powered charging
Installing a charger in your driveway is already a choice. Making it available to the neighbour who needs it is the logical next step: citizen-powered charging. You don't become a network's customer, you are the network. In the meantime, Belgium saves the copper, the equipment and the public money that a charger two streets away would have required. You keep control of who charges, when, at what rate.
- You stay in charge of your charger, your slots, your rate
- Your equipment serves ten times instead of two, with no notable extra wear
- You provide a paid local service, not a free activist gesture
I had solar panels but was exporting to the grid for almost nothing. Now I open slots in the evenings when my car is full. I approve the request in two taps. Payment arrives at end of month.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I earn exactly?
Depending on your rate per kWh and usage, expect between €30 and €150 per month. You keep 100% of your rate, PotatoCharge adds its fee to the driver's price.
Am I really contributing to the ecological transition?
Yes, concretely. Every slot you open lets a neighbour without a charger (an apartment dweller, a family renting) switch to an EV without waiting for new public deployment. You activate infrastructure that's already installed, with no extra kWh or hardware needed.
Can I decline a charging request?
Yes. Every request requires your approval before it is confirmed. You can also block a driver at any time, without explanation.
What is PotatoCharge's commission?
PotatoCharge adds 20% to the rate you set, it's the driver who pays it. You keep 100% of your price. This fee covers session traceability, secure payments, and platform maintenance.
Do I need to declare this income for tax?
Yes, this income must be declared as miscellaneous income. Each year you receive a PDF summary ready to attach to your tax return.
Is my charger compatible?
All EV chargers with a Type 2 socket (the European standard) are compatible. No specific hardware or configuration is required, you approve each session manually via the app.
